DUM-E

Our team robot shares a name with DUM-E, Tony Stark’s workshop helper from Iron Man—the earnest robotic arm that sweeps, hands over tools, and keeps the lab moving. Like our namesake, our bot is built to show up, work hard, and support the team on the field.

Build progress in the shop

Build stage 1: an early lift frame with crossed uprights test-fit on the robot chassis
First uprights test-fit on the drivetrain, before any top crossmembers.
Build stage 2: the lift frame with a rectangular top crossmember added, taller than stage 1
A rectangular top crossmember goes on and the frame gains height.
Build stage 3: a taller lift tower with extra diagonal bracing, mid-build
Extra bracing and a taller tower — the most recent in-shop progress shot.
